Melissa E. McMorries has engaged in the practice of law for over twenty-five years.  Mrs. McMorries started her career in-house, first with RJR Nabisco, Inc. as counsel and then joined The Regina Company as Vice President and General Counsel. She later went into private practice, first with Rogers & Hardin, LLP and then with Paul Hastings, LLP, in their respective corporate and securities groups. After serving as interim Executive Director of the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, she formed McClure & McMorries, PC, representing start-up companies and estate planning clients. 

She is admitted to the Bars of the States of Georgia and North Carolina. She has served as a member of the board of directors of several non-profit organizations, and currently is Past President and a member of the Board of Directors of the Atlanta Contemporary Art Center, a Sunday School teacher and member of the Stewardship Committee at All Saints’ Episcopal Church.  She was born in Bethesda, Maryland, completed her undergraduate degree, cum laude, at DukeUniversity, and her law degree, cum laude, at Wake Forest University School of Law.  She was Executive Editor of the Wake Forest Law Review and was the winner of the Phi Alpha Delta Scholastic Cup.
